Carpet stains are painful to see and stressful to remove. But you may understand that stains are things that you get free with carpets. You can try avoiding them, but you can’t run after your kids or your pets all the time making sure they do not spoil your beautiful carpets. But there is one thing that you can do: Get rid of these stains as quickly as possible. If you are able to reach to the affected site in seconds and remove it with appropriate means, there are high chances of your success in carpet cleaning.
Getting Rid of Oily Stains
Oh my God! These are the most stubborn enemy you will find in your fight against carpet cleaning. The problem is that regular cleaning detergents can’t remove them. However, a de-greaser product can be used here, but you must make sure that your carpet is color fast and is in some dark color. After the treatment, you can clear it with warm water and leave it for drying.
Don’t you even think about scrubbing an oily stain, it will only make things worse. The stain will continue to spread across your carpet. Moreover, you may think that your strenuous effort has borne fruit but it is only after a few days that you will find these disgusting marks springing up again, as they cling to the carpet padding.
Remove Liquid Stains
Liquid stains are simpler to remove as compared to oily marks just discussed. Light colored liquid or brown liquid can be easily cleaned off from your carpet and you won’t find any difficulty getting back the charm of your beautiful carpet.
The idea is simple: You need to place a towel over the area where the stain looks most powerful. Fold the towel in quarters and place on the affected part. Now stand over the towel to make sure that enough pressure has been provided, enabling the towel to absorb all the liquid from the carpet. If you find that the towel is getting damp, give it another fold. You can also change the towel during the treatment. These methods will however not prove fruitful in cases of red stains and we will discuss their treatment shortly in the following section.
Red Liquid Stain
For these stains, you first need to try the same method as discussed above. If it didn’t work out, try to use an industrial carpet cleaner right after the accident if possible. Some oxygenated cleansers can also help you get rid of powerful red liquid stains, such as the Oxy-Clean. But you would need to be persistent. Give it a try one after another, until the stain has been completely eradicated.
