We generally do not consider carpet cleaning as a problematic task. In fact, we think that it is only a matter of grabbing our vacuum cleaner and passing it over our carpets. Well, let me just say that these here are a few tips for you to put into practice when things do not work out precisely as intended.
Well, just vacuuming your carpet properly and regularly is usually enough to keep it in great shape. How amazing it is to see how just vacuuming a room can make it appear more organized and welcoming.
In order to make sure that your carpet is properly cared for that its vacuuming does not get overlooked; it would be good to create a regular vacuum chore schedule. If you implement a ‘take-off shoe’ policy while vacuuming regularly, your carpets will last longer and appear fresher.
It is also advisable to use a deodorizer on your carpet so as to get rid of bad odors. Remember that you can save money by using baking soda instead of buying carpet deodorizers which are just fancy and therefore a waste of cash.
Another way of caring for your carpet is to ensure that it is deep-cleaned through carpet shampoos and/or regular steam cleanings, at least once a year. If your carpet is frequently used, then it will be good to schedule these deep-cleaning at least twice a year. Since these procedures ensure thorough cleaning, they consequently prevent the accumulation if the dirt left behind by vacuum cleaners.
When manufacturers claim to produce stain resistant fabrics, remember that some are of better quality than others. Thus, it is important to know how to look after our carpets and the primary trick is to act fast immediately your carpet gets stained. Do not give the stain the opportunity to sink in deep and probably become permanent.
Our initial reaction to a stain is to scrub and rub. Do not do this! Simply dab the spill immediately with a clean cloth. If you discover the stain late, just scrape off the dry debris as much as you and then wet the spot with a cleaning solvent of your choice. Once the spot is set, dab to remove the stain with a white paper towel or a clean cloth.
In case of gum or any other sticky substance, you should freeze it with an ice cube or canned liquid ice and then scrape it off. You can repeat this exercise till the substance is completely removed.
If you follow these simple but useful tips, you will be sure to provide a healthy atmosphere for your loved ones.
